Margitta and Bernd were married for almost 25 years. Margitta was now 46 and Bernd almost 50, and they had three children together, almost all of whom were out of the house. She had built a house, Bernd was self-employed and Margitta was a housewife. They got along quite well, except for the usual problems of a long marriage.
